Nigerian sentence for 3yr RI for violation immigration law
The CJM court Nahan sentenced a Nigerian man illegally residing in India to rigorous imprisonment for 3 years in violation of immigration law of on Saturday. Assistant District Attorney RK Sharma said in a press release issued here today that accused John Kingston Chijioke had been living in India illegally since 2016. CJM Nahan Dr. Partha Jain after hearing all the parties, the Nigerian national held guilty of staying in India without a visa. Mr Sharma said that in year 2021, convict was caught living illegally without a visa under the police station Sadar Nahan. After which the police closely scrutinized the passport visa of accused John Kingston Chijioke and all the facts related to his arrival in India. After investigation, the police presented the challan in the court. On the basis of witnesses and evidence, the court found Umu Korokoro Nigeria, a resident of John Kingston Chijioke guilty under section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946. On which he was sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment by the court. ADA said that Jan Kingston Chijioke had come to Delhi from Nigeria in the year 2012. In Delhi he was trading online since 2012. His visa expired in the year 2016 and he had not renewed his visa. On asking by state police to produce the visa documents he could not produce any valid documents.
