Jai Ram Thakur Hails PM Modi’s 25-Year Public Service Journey

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday joined BJP workers in Kullu to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. Marking the occasion by lighting the Seva Jyoti and participating in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha and Seva Jyoti Yatra, Thakur described Modi’s journey as a symbol of dedication, commitment and service to the nation.

A large number of party workers welcomed Thakur during the event, where attendees also watched the Prime Minister’s live address together.

Congratulating Modi on completing 25 years in public office, Thakur said the Seva Jyoti Yatra reflects a continuous journey of service that has inspired millions across the country. He prayed to the deities of Himachal Pradesh for the flame of public service to keep shining and continue guiding efforts towards national welfare.

Reflecting on Modi’s political career, Thakur noted that he first took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, and later assumed office as Prime Minister in 2014. He described the period as a remarkable 25-year journey from leading a state to steering the country on the national stage.

Thakur said Modi’s rise demonstrated how an ordinary party worker, without any stated ambition to become Prime Minister, could reach the nation’s highest elected office through dedication and hard work. He contrasted this with opposition politics, claiming that the BJP has focused on putting national interests first.

Highlighting achievements under Modi’s leadership, Thakur referred to decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and actions against terrorism and Naxalism. He also credited the Prime Minister with enhancing India’s global standing and helping position the country as an emerging manufacturing hub.

On the economic front, Thakur said India had advanced significantly over the past decade, moving from the world’s 11th-largest economy in 2014 to the fourth-largest economy in 2026. He added that the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” continues to guide the country’s journey towards self-reliance and the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Expressing confidence in Modi’s leadership, Thakur said many people wanted him to continue guiding the country in the years ahead.

Among those present at the event were MP Kangana Ranaut, former ministers Govind Singh Thakur and Maheshwar Singh, MLAs Surender Shourie and Lokender Kumar, BJP district president Amit Sood, Narottam Thakur, Akhilesh Kapoor and Zila Parishad president Thakur Das.
