Mundu School girls created history in wrestling and judo

In the recently held block-level Under-14 Girls’ Sports Competition, the students of Government High School, Mundu, performed brilliantly despite limited resources and won the overall general trophy. Mundu’s Ritika (Class VII), Isha (Class VIII), and Neha (Class IX) won gold medals in the Judo competition, and in wrestling, Mundu students Isha (Class VIII), Neha, Samriti, and Kiran (all Class IX) also won gold medals in their respective categories. Based on this performance, Mundu School received the overall Judo and Wrestling trophies. This achievement by Mundu’s girls has served as an inspiring example for sports talent in rural areas.
Similarly, Mundu School athletes performed remarkably well in the under-14 student category. Manish, a ninth-grade student, won gold in judo and silver in wrestling. Divyansh, also from the same class, brought glory to the school by winning the gold medal in wrestling.
Upon returning from the competition with the trophy, the players were given a grand welcome by villagers in Mundu with drums and garlands. School Management Committee President Man Singh, Vice President Ashima Chauhan, SMC members, and villagers honored the players and teachers. People credited coach Amar Verma, whose tireless efforts led to this achievement.
