First Armed Corps Junga will celebrate its 55th Raising Day tomorrow, preparations complete

 The 1st Armed Battalion, Junga, a prestigious unit of the Himachal Pradesh Police, will celebrate its 55th Raising Day with great enthusiasm and zeal on August 7. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Southern Range), Shimla, Anjum Ara, will be the chief guest at the Raising Day celebrations.
Giving this information, Commander First Armed Corps Junga Bhupendra Singh Negi said that in view of the increasing security and law and order needs in the state after the Indo-Pak war, the First Armed Corps was formed on August 7, 1971. Over the past 55 years, this Corps has established a distinct identity in the Himachal Pradesh Police through its excellent service, discipline and dedication.
He said that the purpose of establishing the battalion was to provide additional police force to maintain law and order in various areas of the state, including the capital Shimla, and to provide assistance to the district police when needed. Over time, this battalion has not only successfully discharged its responsibilities but has also made a significant contribution to strengthening the state’s internal security system.
The soldiers of the First Armed Corps have been continuously providing their services in election duty, VIP security, maintaining law and order, relief and rescue operations during natural disasters, and special operations. Whenever additional police force is needed in the state, the trained and disciplined soldiers of this Corps are seen standing in the forefront.
On the occasion of Raising Day, various programs will be organized to commemorate the Corps’ glorious history, achievements, and outstanding service. This day is not only a moment of pride for the Corps, but also an important occasion to recognize its invaluable contribution to the security and peacekeeping of the state.
