Over 41,000 Una Farmers Go Digital with AgriStack for Seamless Scheme Benefits

Under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu’s push for tech-driven governance, the agriculture sector in the state is shedding its old-school image. And Una district is leading the charge. A staggering 41,861 farmers have already hopped onto the AgriStack portal, getting themselves registered in the new digital farmer registry.

But what does this actually mean for the everyday farmer? It boils down to one powerful tool: a unique 11-digit Farmer ID, linked directly to their Aadhaar. Think of it as a digital passport for farming. Once you have it, you don’t need to run around proving who you are or what land you own—it’s all right there in the system.

Earlier, a farmer had to juggle stacks of paperwork to apply for schemes like PM Kisan, CM Kisan Nidhi, crop insurance, or even a Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Now, with a single digital registry, all their land records, crop details, and personal information are securely stored on one platform.
When a new scheme is launched, the system can automatically identify eligible farmers, making the entire process smoother, faster, and shockingly transparent. No more bribes for corrections, no more files getting “lost” in the system.

Mapping Every Field with GPS

Adding to the digital revolution, the department is running a digital crop survey using mobile apps and GPS technology. So far, over 2.83 lakh surveys have been approved. Officials are actually mapping out the fields to see exactly what is being grown where.

If you’re a farmer in Una and haven’t registered yet, there’s no need to panic—or pay anyone. According to Deputy Director of Agriculture, Prem Singh Thakur, farmers can simply walk into their nearest Lok Mitra Kendra (the local citizen service center) and get registered for free.
All you need is your Aadhaar card, a land khasra number, and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. That’s it. The department is also going door-to-door in villages to make sure no one is left behind in this digital shift.

Recognizing the scale of this change, District Magistrate Jatin Lal has made a heartfelt appeal to the remaining farming community. “Don’t wait for the last minute,” he urged. “Get registered now so you don’t miss out on benefits.
