A huge crowd gathered at the Peeran Gram Sabha, and a budget of 47 lakh rupees was unanimously passed

A large crowd of villagers gathered on Monday for the Gram Sabha held in Peeran Gram Panchayat, located at the extreme end of the Mashobra development block. Panchayat head Nisha Devi presided over the meeting, while Deputy Head Attar Singh Thakur and Panchayat Committee member Daulat Ram were special attendees.
At the beginning of the meeting, Panchayat Secretary Rajiv Thakur welcomed all public representatives and villagers. He presented the Panchayat’s estimated budget of ₹47 lakh for the year 2026-27 to the Gram Sabha, which was unanimously passed.
Rajiv Thakur said that in the current financial year, priority will be given to various development works in the Panchayat area, including sanitation, health, drinking water, repair of connecting roads, housing facilities for poor families. He also read out the names of 41 poor and needy families approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Gram Sabha. Apart from this, suggestions were invited from the villagers for the development plans to be prepared under the 16th Finance Commission. The Panchayat Secretary also presented the income-expenditure statement of the last financial year.
The proposal to increase the property tax from Rs 50 to Rs 100 was also passed unanimously in the Gram Sabha.
In her address, Pradhan Nisha Devi stated that public participation is crucial to making the Panchayat an ideal developmental Panchayat. She assured that all Panchayat-related issues will be effectively addressed with the government so that people can have access to basic amenities at their doorsteps.
Deputy Pradhan Attar Singh Thakur said that all the connecting roads of the Panchayat area will be repaired within a week, so that farmers do not face any problem in transporting their crops to the markets.
On this occasion, Dr. Divya Verma, Medical Officer at PHC Trahai, provided detailed information on the symptoms, prevention, and measures for various diseases that spread during the rainy season. Meanwhile, Rakesh Verma, Principal of the local school, presented various school-related issues to the village council.
Ward members Archana Thakur, Anuradha, Narayan Singh, Premdas Sharma, and Suraksha Devi, SMC President Vidya Chauhan, Vice President Sarla Sharma, Patwari Shubham Sharma, and a large number of villagers attended the meeting. People’s problems were also heard.
