
Seven-day NSS camp concludes at Chiyog School
A seven-day special National Service Scheme (NSS) camp concluded with great enthusiasm on Saturday at the Government Senior Secondary School, Chiyog. Thirty-three volunteers participated in the camp, actively engaging in topics such as social service, cleanliness, environmental protection, and drug de-addiction.
Dinesh Jagta, former head of the Gram Panchayat Chiyog, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he stated that NSS is a powerful means of personality development for students, fostering social responsibility, a spirit of service, and practical knowledge alongside education. He urged students to adopt a disciplined and drug-free life and urged them to use the experiences and knowledge gained during the camp for the development of society and their villages.
School Principal Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that during the seven-day camp, resource persons from various fields provided information on a variety of important topics to the volunteers. Students were also taken on nature tours during the camp. In addition, volunteers cleaned water sources in Bakhog, the school’s adopted village, conducted a cleanliness drive in the surrounding areas, and raised awareness among villagers about drug addiction and cleanliness.
Programme Officer Vijayalakshmi Sharma and Rakesh Rawat expressed their gratitude to the school management committee, all the teachers, staff and students for their cooperation in making the camp a success.
School Captain Sneha Mahanta, NSS Captain Anshu Thakur, and Sejal also spoke on the occasion. Volunteers entertained the audience with captivating performances of NSS songs, goodwill songs, and colorful cultural programs.
School Management Committee Chairman Ramesh Verma, social workers Shiv Singh Jagta, Shivdutt Sharma, Rajendra Verma, Vice Principal Bhagat Singh Jagta, SMC members, teachers, staff, and a large number of students were present at the event. The camp concluded with a pledge to nation-building, service, and social awareness.
