Himachal Government Orders Transfer of Nine Secretariat Officers in Administrative Reshuffle
The Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring nine officers from the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Service (HPPS) with immediate effect. The move is seen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative functioning.
The transfer and posting orders were issued in the name of Governor Kavinder Gupta and officially notified by Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta.
According to the notification, Vijay Kumar, who was serving as Deputy Secretary (Digital Technologies and Governance) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh in Shimla, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary (Home). In another key change, Manmohan Chopra, previously Under Secretary (Ayush), has been shifted to the Home Department as Under Secretary.
Several other officers have also been reassigned to new departments. Vandana, Under Secretary (Industries), has been transferred as Under Secretary (SA). Ranjana Sharma, earlier posted in the Education Department, will now serve as Under Secretary in Youth Services & Sports as well as Digital Technologies and Governance in Shimla. Ramesh Chand has been moved from Youth Services & Sports to take charge as Under Secretary (Industries).
The reshuffle also includes postings resulting from promotions. Tarun Saxena, following his promotion, has been appointed as Under Secretary (Finance-IF) in Shimla. Vandana Gupta, also promoted, has been posted as Under Secretary (Ayush). Ved Parkash has assumed charge as Under Secretary (Finance Regulation), while Govind Ballabh Upadhyay, after his promotion, has been posted as Under Secretary (Personnel) in Shimla.
The immediate implementation of these transfers signals the government’s intent to ensure continuity and efficiency in the functioning of key departments within the state administration.
