Directorate of Forensic Services and Sandip University, Nashik sign MoU

The Directorate of Forensic Services, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla Hills, Junga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Forensic Science, School of Science, Sandip University, Nashik, Maharashtra to strengthen collaboration in the field of education, training, research and consultancy.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Meenakshi Mahajan, Director, Directorate of Forensic Services, Himachal Pradesh, along with Dr. S.K. Pal, Assistant Director (Biology and Serology), and Naseeb Singh Patial, Assistant Director (Voice Analysis). Present on behalf of Sandip University were Prof. Praveen Bharti, Registrar, Dr. Nissar A. Reshi (Associate Dean), Dr. Nidhi Pandya, Head of the Department of Forensic Science, and Assistant Professor Pritam Pandit.
The MoU will focus on academic exchanges, internships, joint research initiatives, consultancy services, and participation in national and international events. The MoU aims to promote knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in the rapidly evolving field of forensic science.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahajan described Sandip University as a promising institution offering specialized forensic courses. He stated that this partnership will be beneficial to both institutions, particularly as students will gain access to advanced equipment and practical experience through scientific investigations conducted by the Directorate.
He also underlined that the Directorate significantly assists investigative agencies in solving criminal cases through scientific methods. The agreement will initially be effective for three years.
