SJVN Organizes 25th Inter CPSU Kabaddi Tournament at Rampur HPS
Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, extended best wishes to all participating teams of the 25th Inter-CPSU Kabaddi Tournament being organized by SJVN at Rampur Hydro Power Station from today. He emphasized the importance of sports in fostering teamwork and organizational excellence, which are vital for today’s work culture.
On this occasion, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, encouraged participants to actively engage in sports activities, highlighting that a healthy workforce is key to sustained performance and productivity in any organization.
Sh. Parthajit De, Director (Finance), SJVN, underscored that such sporting events play a vital role in promoting physical fitness, team spirit and mental well-being among employees, thereby enhancing their professional performance.
The 25th Inter-CPSU Kabaddi Tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Vikas Marwah, Head of Project, Rampur HPS by hoisting PSCB flag and declaring the tournament open in presence of Sh. Rajeev Kapoor, Head of Project, NJHPS and senior officials & employees from Rampur HPS, NJHPS and LHEP-1.
The tournament is being conducted under the aegis of the Power Sports Control Board (PSCB) and is witnessing participation from leading Central Public Sector Enterprises including MoP, NHPC, PowerGrid, CEA, REC, THDC, BBMB and host team SJVN.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by Pahari Nati, beautifully reflecting rich culture of Himachal Pradesh. The ceremony also featured an impressive march-past by all participating teams. Adding a unique community connect to the event, local Mahila Mandals were provided an opportunity to showcase traditional products and local delicacies, promoting regional craftsmanship and self-reliance alongside the sporting event.
On the first day of the tournament, a total of four league matches were played. The first match was played between SJVN and CEA in which SJVN triumphed.The second match was held between NHPC and REC in which NHPC emerged victorious. The third match was played between PGCIL and THDC in which PGCIL registered a win. The fourth match was held between BBMB and MoP in which BBMB was the winner.
