Attack on CM’s Media Advisor’s Son: Police Nab Two, Hunt for Third

Aryan Chauhan, son of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s principal media advisor Naresh Chauhan, narrowly escaped a life-threatening attack last Friday. As he drove towards Shimla, a white Alto carrying masked assailants intercepted his car. Armed with a pistol and iron rods, they allegedly tried to threaten him, snatch cash, and even attempted kidnapping.

In a desperate bid to save himself, Aryan leapt from his vehicle into a nearby gorge. Though he sustained minor injuries, he managed to survive and was discharged after treatment at IGMC Hospital.

Police have since arrested two suspects and recovered the car used in the assault, which carried fake number plates and a tampered chassis number. Investigators revealed the attackers had gone to great lengths to conceal their tracks, even altering the vehicle’s software and using forged keys.

The case has drawn attention not only because Aryan is the son of the CM’s close aide but also due to his role as a youth Congress leader. The motive—whether political rivalry, personal enmity, robbery, or kidnapping—remains unclear, but police are intensively searching for the third suspect and combing CCTV footage for leads.

For now, the incident stands as a chilling reminder of how quickly violence can erupt, even in the hill state’s usually quiet capital. The situation is unfolding and further updates are expected.
