Devesh Thakur promoted as Executive Engineer in PWD
Devesh Thakur, Assistant Engineer at the Junga Sub-Division of the Public Works Department, has been promoted to Executive Engineer. Prior to this, Thakur served as Assistant Engineer in Rampur. Thakur is known as an honest, hardworking, and dedicated officer. As a young officer, he has contributed significantly to the construction and maintenance of roads. He has never allowed corruption to interfere with government work.
It is noteworthy that Devesh Thakur is a resident of Dung Dockghar Gumma village in Shimla Rural. At the age of 22, Devesh Thakur began his career as an assistant engineer in the Rampur Bushahr subdivision of the PWD. Within ten years, he rose to executive engineer status. Additionally, Thakur served as a member of the Chief Minister’s Quality Control Flying Squad, a committee led by former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu.
Devesh topped the Assistant Engineer examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission in 2014. He completed his 12th grade education at DAV School, Shimla, and then earned a degree in Civil Engineering from NIT Hamirpur.
Devesh Thakur said that he was selected as a manager in the Indian Railways and the Food Corporation of India, but with the aim of serving the state, he chose the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department. While serving as an assistant engineer in Junga, his biggest achievements were constructing the grand building of Degree College Chail Koti and preparing the DPR for the Chail Kufri road, securing approval of ₹52 crore from the government under the CRF. Additionally, he prepared DPRs for several roads in the Junga area under PMGSY and NABARD, securing funding.
