Due to the absence of a bypass, the streets of Junga town often get jammed

 Even after 78 years of independence, the princely city of Junga remains backward in terms of development. Due to the lack of a bypass road to Old Junga, buses and other vehicles must navigate the narrow streets, often causing traffic jams. Surprisingly, no government has made any effort to build a bypass for Old Junga. It’s worth noting that Junga was once the headquarters of the Keonthal State, under which 18 Thakurais ruled. Junga was bustling with activity during that period, but today the city’s streets remain deserted. Although the government has organized a flying festival for the past three years to promote tourism, tourism in Junga has not received any boost. The streets remain deserted.
It should be noted that the town’s population, including the Forensic Science Lab and the police battalion, is over three and a half thousand, but Junga town has not yet received the status of a Nagar Panchayat. In 2020, the former Chief Minister and former Urban Development Minister of the BJP government promised Junga Nagar Panchayat status, but this promise remained unfulfilled during their tenure. Subsequently, the current government has also not considered the matter. There is no proper sanitation system in Junga town. The toilet near the school ground is filthy. Furthermore, the lack of accessible toilets in the town causes significant inconvenience to women, especially because people from various Panchayats in the Junga area come to the Tehsil and for other purposes.
Approximately 14 buses operate through Junga town, but due to the lack of a bus station, buses are forced to park on the road, causing traffic jams. The tehsil offices for 12 panchayats lack telephone facilities. There are no parking facilities anywhere in the town, creating significant problems for vehicle owners traveling from outside.
Assistant Engineer PWD Junga said that no proposal has come to the department for construction of bypass road for Purana Junga.
