Sunshine Gives Way to Snow: Himachal Braces for Western Disturbance
Himachal Pradesh is set for a change in weather as a Western Disturbance is expected to bring snowfall and rain to the higher reaches of Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti on February 27 and 28. The rest of the state, however, will continue to stay dry.
Despite the incoming system, temperatures across Himachal are likely to remain stable, with no major fluctuations expected in the coming days.
The past 24 hours saw mostly dry conditions, with bright sunshine across the state. Minimum temperatures were 2°C to 3°C above normal, ranging from -5°C to 11°C, while maximum temperatures were 3°C to 6°C above normal, between 6°C and 28°C.
Shimla recorded a minimum of 7.5°C, Dharamsala 10.9°C, and Manali 2.9°C. Kalpa dipped to 0.2°C, while Tabo in Spiti was among the coldest at -4.3°C. On the warmer side, Neri village in Hamirpur touched 28.2°C, making it the hottest spot, while Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest at -4.9°C.
