State Congress Chief Rebukes Ex-CM Over Revenue Deficit Grant Remarks
State Congress President Vinay Kumar has sternly warned former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur that if he is unwilling to cooperate with the state government on restoring the RDG and revenue deficit grant, he should at least refrain from spreading lies and confusion in the state. There is no financial emergency of any kind in the state.
Vinay Kumar strongly objected to Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur’s press conference today, in which he stated that the state was moving toward a financial emergency. He stated that the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) is the state’s constitutional right, and every effort is being made to restore it. The continuation of the RDG is essential to accelerate the state’s development. He accused the BJP of engaging in double standards on this issue. He said that BJP leaders are attempting to mislead the people of the state by making baseless statements. He said that the Congress will meet with all cabinet colleagues in New Delhi, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, to highlight the state’s rights, urge the restoration of the RDG and the release of the announced disaster relief amount of 1500 crore.
