Vinay Kumar Push for Renuka’s Development and Gratitude to the Chief Minister

State Congress President and Renuka MLA Shri Vinay Kumar has expressed heartfelt thanks to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for addressing the long-standing concerns of families affected by the Renuka Dam project. He highlighted that 152 families, once displaced by dam construction, have now been officially recognized as landless under RR provisions and included in the dam-affected category—a move welcomed by the local community.

Speaking at Rajiv Bhavan, Kumar emphasized his commitment to expanding basic amenities in Renuka, including roads, healthcare, education, and drinking water facilities. He shared that the much-awaited Giri River bridge, connecting Shri Renuka Ji, has received environmental clearance and will soon be completed at a cost of ₹14 crores. Except for one village, Kail in Dana Ghaton Panchayat, every Panchayat in his constituency is now connected by road, with hopes that villagers will provide land to extend connectivity further.

Kumar also underscored the region’s immense potential for religious tourism and assured that efforts are being made to harness it fully. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for prioritizing development projects and reaffirmed his dedication to Renuka’s growth.

On organizational matters, Kumar noted that the All India Congress Committee has scheduled a key meeting in New Delhi with newly appointed district presidents, which he and the Chief Minister will attend. The meeting is expected to finalize PCC, district, and block presidents as part of the ongoing Organization Creation Campaign.

Addressing financial concerns, Kumar mentioned the government’s call for an all-party meeting to discuss the Finance Commission’s decision to discontinue the revenue deficit grant. He stressed the importance of BJP’s cooperation in restoring the grant, emphasizing that it is vital for the state’s interest.
