Seating the LoP in third row is a clear breach of protocol and reflects the BJP’s authoritarian mindset: Vinay Kumar
State Congress President Vinay Kumar has said that during the national celebrations of Republic Day, the country has once again seen how the Modi government is continuously hurting democratic norms, parliamentary traditions and the respect of the opposition.
Deliberately seating the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in the third row is not only a violation of protocol but also exposes the dictatorial mindset of the BJP government and its ill will towards democratic institutions.
Vinay Kumar said that this behavior is not only shameful but also demonstrates how fearful the Modi government is of the opposition’s voice. In a country where the opposition is not respected, democracy becomes a mere sham.
Vinay Kumar asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government, “Is this your ‘New India’ where democratic dissent is humiliated and suppressed? Isn’t this insult to opposition leaders a blatant violation of the Constitution’s fundamental principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity?”
He asked whether this conduct was in accordance with tradition, protocol and constitutional values.
He said that this step of the Modi government is not just arrogance, but a direct attack on democracy, which can never be tolerated.
He said that this insult to Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge is an insult to millions of citizens of the country who believe in the opposition and the democratic value system. He said that the Congress party and all democracy-loving citizens of the country strongly condemn this unconstitutional and uncultured behavior. Congress will never bow down to this cheap politics of the BJP.
He said that his struggle is to save democracy and this fight will continue with full force.
