Shimla Embraces “The White Truth”: A Web Series to Heal and Empower
In a significant step for social awareness, Shimla’s Mayor Surendra Chauhan today unveiled the poster for the impactful new web series “The White Truth.” Created by the Himachal Gyan Science Committee, the series is a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating drug addiction and bringing hope to the community.
During the launch, Mayor Chauhan praised the committee’s meaningful work, stating, “This excellent effort is truly commendable and will be a powerful tool in the fight against addiction in our society.” He also announced that the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh will officially launch the series on 25th January 2026, marking it as a key moment in the state’s wellness journey.
The event was graced by dedicated individuals committed to this cause, including State Secretary Satyawan Pundir, National Coordinator of Samata, retired Principal Dr. O.P. Kayastha, Psychologist Dr. Ravi Bhushan, and the series’ director and actor Suryansh. Also present were chief artist Kapil Sharma, Advocate Hardeep Roshta, and members of the talented cast and crew like Ankit Dubey, Ayushi, Lucky, and Review Vinay, whose collective efforts have brought this important project to life.
Speaking to the press, Mayor Chauhan highlighted the urgency of the mission, noting, “Drugs like Chitta have tragically impacted our youth and society. A web series on this subject can play a vital role in raising awareness and sparking change.” He described the initiative as not just timely, but necessary for the well-being of Himachal.
Director and actor Suryansh shared his vision for the series, explaining, “The White Truth is more than entertainment—it’s a social campaign. It reveals the real-life consequences of addiction and encourages our youth to choose a healthy, drug-free life. Our goal is to spread positivity and contribute to a stronger, brighter Himachal.”
Wrapping up the programme, State Secretary Satyawan Pundir made a heartfelt appeal to the public and media: “Watch this series, share its message, and join us in this collective movement against drugs. Together, we can make a difference.”
