Himachal Medical Officers Association Demands Immediate Revocation of Dr. Radhav’s Dismissal Order
A meeting of the Himachal Medical Officers Association was held today, December 25, 2025, with all district officials and state unit representatives present. The meeting unanimously resolved that the Himachal Medical Officers Association stands shoulder to shoulder with the Resident Doctors Association, IGMC, Shimla. Today, December 25, 2025, the RDA and CSA, with the knowledge and support of SAMDCOT members, held a gate meeting at IGMC, Shimla, where the following demands and future course of action were decided upon by both associations:
1) Cancellation of Dismissal: The order of dismissal issued against Dr. Radhav is sought to be immediately set aside.
2) Threat to life and national security: Dr. Raghav was allegedly threatened directly by Mr. Naresh Dasta with threats to his life and forced to leave the country. It is demanded that an FIR be registered and appropriate legal action be initiated immediately under sections 351, 351(3), 352, 61, 62, 190, and 191 of the IPC.
3) Mob intimidation inside IGMC Shimla campus: An incident of mob intimidation took place inside IGMC Shimla campus, which seriously jeopardized the safety and working environment of healthcare professionals and disrupted the regular functioning of the hospital. It is demanded that an FIR be registered and legal action be initiated immediately under sections 351, 351(3), 352, 61, 62, 190, 191 of the CrPC.
4) Damage to public property: A mob has allegedly damaged public property. It is demanded that legal action be initiated immediately against the perpetrators in accordance with applicable laws.
5) Review of Security Lapses: A comprehensive review and fixing of accountability is sought for the earlier reported deficiencies in CCTV coverage and non-implementation of security lapses at IGMC Shimla, which had already been analysed, which allegedly contributed to the occurrence of this serious incident.
The RDA has decided to go on a 1-day mass casual leave (CL) on December 26, 2025, as the Honorable Chief Minister is scheduled to meet with us tomorrow at 9:45 AM. If the above demands are not addressed within the given timeframe, we will be forced to go on a strike from 9:30 AM on December 27, 2025, during which all regular services, except emergency services, elective operation theaters, and outpatient departments, will be suspended. In this context, the Himachal Medical Officers Association has also decided to go on a 1-day mass casual leave on December 26, 2025. Further operational policy will be formulated keeping in mind the fulfillment of the demands of the Resident Doctors Association. From 9:30 AM on December 27, 2025, only emergency services will be available to patients.
