Suspended IGMC Doctor Raghav Nurula Speaks Out: “My Side of the Story Matters Too”
The patient-doctor clash at Shimla’s IGMC Hospital has taken another turn, with suspended physician Dr. Raghav Nurula releasing a video to explain his side. He says the viral clip circulating online shows only fragments of the incident and insists that the full truth must be heard.
Dr. Raghav recounts that while on duty, he casually asked a patient if he had visited the ward before. What began as a routine question quickly escalated—voices were raised, tempers flared, and soon the patient’s attendants joined in. According to the doctor, the situation spiraled into verbal abuse and even physical assault, with claims that the patient attacked him using an IV stand.
In his eight years of service, Dr. Raghav says he has never faced such hostility and maintains he has always treated patients with respect. Meanwhile, the patient’s family alleges the opposite—that the doctor misbehaved and assaulted a man on oxygen support.
The incident, now viral on social media, has left the hospital tense. The administration has suspended Dr. Raghav and formed a committee to investigate, while the Resident Doctors’ Welfare Association has rallied behind him, demanding a fair probe. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
