Vinay Kumar thanked Priyanka Gandhi for raising the issue of poor condition of Chandigarh-Shimla four lane
State Congress President Vinay Kumar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to All India Congress General Secretary MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for strongly raising the issue of the poor condition of the Chandigarh-Shimla four-lane road in the Lok Sabha. He sharply stated that the BJP MPs elected from Himachal Pradesh have no concern for the state’s security, convenience, or future. They are remaining completely mute spectators.
Vinay Kumar said that Chandigarh
The Shimla four-lane road is frequently disrupted by landslides, severely impacting the public, tourists, patients, and emergency services. This isn’t just chaos, but a jeopardy of human life. He stated clearly that Priyanka Gandhi has exposed flaws in the state’s interest, and that these serious issues must be addressed immediately. Widespread deficiencies in the ongoing four-lane construction work in the state have already been exposed. Unscientific cutting, poor drainage, and weak retaining walls are causing landslides at numerous locations, endangering adjacent buildings as well as entire villages and regions. This isn’t development, but a roadmap for destruction.
Vinay Kumar said that the same negligence and flaws are evident not only in the Chandigarh-Shimla project, but also in the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane project. Despite this, the silence of BJP MPs exposes their insensitivity. In contrast, Priyanka Gandhi has forcefully raised the issues of the people of Himachal Pradesh, their daily hardships, and the gross negligence in construction in Parliament, for which the state Congress expresses its gratitude.
Vinay Kumar urged Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to ensure the quality of the four-lane road construction underway in Himachal Pradesh is not compromised. He demanded that the retaining walls and drainage systems be immediately repaired to scientific standards to prevent frequent landslides and potential loss of life and property.
He has said that if road safety and public problems are ignored then the party will not back down from any struggle in public interest, from the streets to the Parliament.
