Dharamshala Set to Dazzle With Kangra Valley Carnival

Dharamshala is gearing up for a week-long celebration that promises to blend tradition with modern spectacle. From December 24 to 31, the Kangra Valley Carnival will transform the town’s Police Grounds into a vibrant hub of music, culture, and festivities.

This year’s carnival is bigger than ever, featuring a drone show, performances by Bollywood and Punjabi stars, Himachali folk traditions, sports competitions, and stalls showcasing local crafts and products.

A Grand Kickoff

The festivities will begin with a colorful parade on December 24, with artists in traditional attire, cultural troupes, and tableaux bringing Himachali heritage to life.

Nights of Music and Magic

Each evening will spotlight different performers:

  • Ankit Tiwari on Christmas Day,
  • Kanwar Grewal with soulful Sufi tunes,
  • Himachali legends like Kuldeep Sharma and Karnail Rana,
  • Punjabi superstar Babbu Maan,
  • Rapper Paradox energizing the youth,
  • And a grand finale on New Year’s Eve with fireworks and performances by Inshat Bhardwaj, Neha, and more.

More Than Entertainment

Beyond music and dance, the carnival will host cricket and football matches, marathons, street theatre, and even hot air balloon rides. A Millets Festival and Craft Bazaar will give local artisans, women, and youth a platform to showcase their products.

For those unable to attend in person, the district administration will stream events live on social media, ensuring the carnival reaches audiences far and wide.

With its mix of tradition, technology, and entertainment, the Kangra Valley Carnival is set to be a memorable highlight of Himachal’s winter season.
