Himachal Pradesh University Goes Digital: Students Can Access Marksheets Online

Students at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) no longer need to wait in long lines or make repeated trips to university offices for their marksheets and certificates. Acting on directions from the Ministry of Education, the university has uploaded academic records from 2021 to 2024 on the DigiLocker NAD portal, giving students easy access to their documents from anywhere.

Benefits for Students

  • Over 1.10 lakh students across the main campus, regional centres, and affiliated colleges will benefit.
  • Common issues like missing records, delays in duplicate issuance, and manual verification will now be avoided.
  • DigiLocker ensures that marksheets and certificates remain secure and permanently available online.

What’s Coming Next

HPU has announced that datesheets and other academic records will also be uploaded in the next phase, making exam-related information more accessible without physical visits.

Apaar ID Requirement

As part of the National Education Policy, students must generate an Apaar ID, a unique academic identifier that links all educational documents. The process is straightforward:

  • Log in using Aadhaar
  • Verify identity with an OTP sent to the mobile number
  • Receive the Apaar ID automatically

A Step Towards Digital Transformation

University officials highlighted that this move will:

  • Reduce paperwork
  • Prevent loss of documents
  • Simplify verification for both students and institutions

This transition marks a significant step in bringing digital academic services to Himachal Pradesh, ensuring convenience and reliability for thousands of students.
