Can’t digest the 3-year celebration of the Congress government: Jai Ram
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that the current Congress government’s three-year anniversary celebration is unbearable. Even senior Congress leaders are at a loss as to what this celebration should be about. The state is grappling with a disaster. The Disaster Act is in effect in Himachal Pradesh, citing which the Chief Minister is attempting to postpone the Panchayat elections. Why, despite such adverse circumstances, is it necessary for the government to celebrate its three-year term? The Sukh government, which promises systemic change, and Congress leaders cannot resist celebrating. Currently, in Himachal Pradesh, the treasury has withheld payments of more than 10,000 rupees. Salaries and pensions are not being paid on time, medical reimbursements, especially for the elderly, are not being made, youth are deprived of employment, and outsourced recruitments are being eliminated. More than 15,000 people have been fired. Roads are riddled with potholes. All amenities in rural areas are in abysmal condition. Even after that the government is busy preparing for the celebration.
Jairam Thakur said that the Congress government is completing three years. They have removed a large part of the government, but they have not a single achievement to point to in these three years. He said that Congress leaders should mention a scheme of their government that is discussed among the public, a scheme that has even ten to five thousand beneficiaries. During our government, schemes like Him Care, Sahara, Swavalamban, Grihini Suvidha, Shagun, and Jan Manch were running, but the Congress government has discontinued them. These schemes were on the lips of the people of the state. Millions of people in the state benefited from our schemes. But this government is unable to even run government schemes. It is bent on shutting them down, either announced or unannounced. Today, funds for Him Care are not being provided, and gas is not available under Grihini Suvidha. This situation is pathetic. The Shagun scheme for daughters is also closed, as is the Sahara scheme for the helpless.
The Leader of the Opposition said that Congress leaders should explain what this celebration is about. If Congress leaders have any shame, they should withdraw their decision to celebrate. Responding to a question from reporters, he said that the land of Bihar has sent a clear message to the Congress, and its plight in Himachal will be even worse. Congress will be nowhere to be seen in the assembly elections. The people of Himachal will force the Congress, which came to power last time on the basis of false guarantees, into an Alto car in the next assembly elections
