Procurement of medical supplies & equipments must be quick, reliable and transparent: Dr Shandil

Health and Family Affairs Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil chaired a High Power Purchase Committee (HPPC) meeting here today and directed the officers to speed-up the tender and procurement of health related equipment and supplies and ensure the process was entirely transparent. He directed to ensure that quality health equipment, diagnostic and laboratory services were available in every health institution of the state.

“The quality healthcare must reach to the remotest of the areas and for that the government was ensuring that state-of-the-art machinery was made available throughout the state,” the minister remarked.

The Health Minister directed to ensure that the procurement and installation of the health machinery was completed as early as possible which would reduce the dependence on private service providers or on the institutions based outside the state.

The modernization and strengthening of health infrastructure and expansion of quality healthcare services across the state was the utmost priority of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and the requirements of the health sector would be fulfilled without any financial constraint.

He further directed to develop a reliable and transparent mechanism to ensure that procurement of important medical supplies becomes seamless and quick.

Secretary Health M. Sudha Devi, Managing Director of the HPMSCL Divyanshu Singal and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
