A Nepali-born child hanged himself in Balg

A Nepali boy (Ajay), a fifth-grade student in Railbhatu village of Balg Gram Panchayat, took a horrific step and ended his life. This Nepali family had been living in Santram Pandey’s house in Railbhatu for the past 12 years. He said that 11-year-old Ajay, son of Ramesh, lived with his grandfather Raju and grandmother, as Ajay’s father and mother had remarried. The family earns their living by working as daily wage laborers.
Yesterday, as soon as Ajay reached home from school, he allegedly ended his life by hanging himself at home. Like every day, Ajay used to take his grandparents to the farm after making tea. When the child did not return to the farm, the grandparents started worrying. At around 6 o’clock, the grandmother came home and started screaming after seeing the horrific scene, due to which the local people gathered and after removing the scarf from Ajay’s neck, they took him to Theog hospital where he was declared dead by the doctor. The family is in shock due to this sudden death of the innocent child. It is not yet clear what were the reasons for the child to take this dreadful suicidal step.
Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma said that the family brought the child to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead after examination. He added that the child’s post-mortem was conducted at IGMC and the body was handed over to the family. The DSP stated that the cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem report is received. Police are investigating the matter and will confirm the facts by considering every aspect.
