Dr. Sonika Thakur joins Junga Hospital as Gynecologist
Dr. Sonika Thakur reported as a gynecologist at Civil Hospital Junga on Thursday. Medical in-charge Dr. Manoj Verma and other staff members welcomed Dr. Sonika Thakur with a bouquet of flowers and a muffler upon her arrival at the hospital. Dr. Manoj Verma said that Sonika Thakur originally belongs to Karsog Churag in Mandi district. After completing her training at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, Kangra, the government has appointed Dr. Sonika Thakur as a gynecologist at Civil Hospital Junga, due to which women of Junga tehsil will no longer have to go to IGMC or KNH Shimla for their treatment.
Junga Panchayat head Bansilal Kashyap, former head and former president of the Congress Mandal Kasumpti, Attar Singh Thakur, Darbhog Panchayat head Tanu Bhardwaj, Kyenthal CLF head Anita Sharma, Poonam Kashyap, Yogmaya Sharma, Preeti, VO Peeran head Bimla Verma, VO Janedghat head Suresha Thakur, along with several women’s groups and self-help groups, expressed their gratitude to the government for appointing a gynecologist. They demanded that the Junga hospital establish an operation theater and provide equipment and other necessary supplies. Head Bansilal Kashyap stated that this is the oldest hospital in the Junga area, where a gynecologist has been appointed for the second time. A gynecologist was previously posted there for a short period several years ago.
