Freshers’ party organized by HPU Computer Science Department

A grand annual freshers’ party was organized in the auditorium of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, by the Department of Computer Science. On this occasion, new students showcased their talents through vibrant performances and were warmly welcomed by the departmental family.
The chief guest for the event was Dr. Sumish Sood, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science, and the special guest was Prof. Mannu Sood, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences. In their addresses, the guests urged the new students to excel in higher education while also emphasizing discipline, ethical values, and advancing in technical research. Several professors from the university, the entire departmental staff, and all students were present on this occasion.
The cultural programs presented at the freshers’ party captivated the audience. The Pahadi Naati dance offered a glimpse of the local culture, the modeling round displayed the talent and confidence of the new students, while the Bollywood dance performances filled the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm. These presentations strengthened the bond between senior and junior students.
Following the cultural programs, a delicious lunch was organized for everyone. Later, the students participated in the DJ Night held in the evening, making the event memorable.
The title of Miss Fresher was awarded to Aashima Chauhan, and the crown of Mr. Fresher was presented to Nikhil Chauhan. This event not only served as a memorable beginning for the new students but also emerged as a strong symbol of camaraderie and unity within the departmental family.
