Congress’s power shaken due to positive impact of GST, Congress is upset: Rakesh

BJP State Chief Spokesperson and MLA Rakesh Jamwal said that

The positive impact of GST has shaken Congress’s position. All Congress leaders and ministers are making thoughtless statements, trying unsuccessfully to divert public attention. In a single day, two cabinet colleagues launched a campaign against GST, and if you listen to them, they reveal nothing but complete ignorance.

Chief spokesperson Rakesh Chambal said that a cabinet colleague even talked about imposing Jaziya. But we want to ask him who imposed Jaziya for visiting temples in Himachal. While the central government is busy providing relief to the people, the Himachal Pradesh government is trying to snatch that relief. If Congress spokespersons talk about diesel, then the BJP-led central government left no stone unturned in reducing the rate of diesel. On the contrary, the Himachal Pradesh government increased VAT on diesel by Rs 7.50 as soon as it came to power. This is proof of the anti-people face of the Congress government.

He said that Congress party leaders are talking about the losses of GST in Himachal Pradesh, but more than 50 industries in Himachal Pradesh have abandoned their operations, which is also a reason for the decline in GST. They should answer for this. He also said that the Chief Minister himself was an MLA in previous governments and was well aware of the Revenue Deficit Grant, so now Congress party leaders are trying to gain political advantage by making this grant a mere political issue.

He said that if we look at the structure of our GDP, our current GDP is ₹330 lakh crore. Of this, ₹202 lakh crore is our consumption. In the previous financial year 2023-24, this consumption was ₹181 lakh crore. This means it has increased from ₹181 lakh crore to ₹202 lakh crore, representing a growth of approximately 12%. The GST reforms are expected to significantly increase consumption, adding at least ₹20,00,000 crore to GDP. This is a major reform that will have a direct impact on the country’s economy. Speaking of investment, last year’s total investment was ₹98 lakh crore. When demand increases, new factories are established, new projects emerge, and new employment opportunities are created. Thus, the GST reforms will also significantly increase investment.
