Preity Zinta Extends a Helping Hand to Himachal in Its Time of Need
In a heartfelt gesture for her homeland, Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has stepped up to support those affected by the recent disasters in Himachal Pradesh. True to her roots as a proud ‘Himachali beti’ (daughter of Himachal), she has contributed ₹30 lakhs to aid relief efforts.
This significant donation was made on behalf of her IPL team, Kings XI Punjab, and has been transferred to the Shimla-based charitable organization, Almighty Blessing.
The founder of Almighty Blessing, Sarbjit Bobby, expressed deep gratitude for Preity’s support. He shared that the funds will be directed specifically to help families in the severely impacted districts of Kullu and Mandi. “The process of transferring the money was underway for about 10 days,” Bobby explained. “After all the formalities were completed, the amount was successfully deposited into our account this past Saturday.”
He further detailed how the aid will be distributed, stating that his organization will use the contribution to provide ₹50 lakhs in total relief. Each affected family will receive direct financial support of ₹25,000 to help them get back on their feet.
This act of kindness is not an isolated event for Preity and her family. Bobby highlighted their longstanding commitment to service, noting, “Preity Zinta’s family has always been involved in charitable work.” In a personal touch, he mentioned that just two days prior, Preity’s mother and brother had personally visited and served at a community kitchen (langar) run by the organization at the IGMC hospital in Shimla.
Preity’s deep connection to Himachal is well-known. She hails from Rohdu in Shimla district and completed her education in the state’s capital before finding fame in Bollywood. She continues to maintain strong ties to the region, visiting Shimla and Rohdu whenever she can.
This recent donation adds to Preity’s history of philanthropy. Her organization had previously provided ₹1 crore to affected families in the Saraj region of Mandi district. Beyond Himachal, she has also donated ₹1 crore to the families of martyrs of Operation Sindhu and ₹33 lakhs to disaster relief efforts in Punjab, proving her commitment to giving back to the communities close to her heart.
