Auckland House School for Boys has brought laurels to Himachal Pradesh with its remarkable performance at the North Zone CISCE Basketball Tournament 2025, held at Trinity School, Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
The Under-19 Boys’ Team showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing the bronze medal after a commanding victory over Gurdaspur in the third-place play-off. Earlier, they stormed into the semifinals with an emphatic 47–23 win against Chandigarh, before facing a strong Delhi NCR side in the penultimate round.
The Under-17 Boys’ Team too displayed grit and sportsmanship. Out of 11 participating teams, they defeated Hoshiarpur in the quarterfinals and narrowly missed a place in the finals, losing to Ludhiana by a close margin of 39–38 in a nail-biting semifinal.
Adding to the pride, three talented Auckland players – Arhan Shah, Sushant Mukkar, and Samarth Thakur (standby) – have been selected to represent North Zone Himachal Pradesh at the National CISCE Basketball Championship.
This achievement reflects the school’s growing reputation in the sporting arena, backed by professional training and mentorship under Head Coach Mr. Navneet Thakur.
The Principal, Mr. Reuben John, congratulated the teams and remarked, “Our boys have made us immensely proud by proving that excellence at Auckland House is not confined to academics alone but extends equally to sports and co-curricular pursuits.”
With this milestone, Auckland House Boys reaffirm their place as one of the leading institutions in Himachal Pradesh nurturing young sporting talent for the national stage.
