Horrific road accident near Neripul Canter fell into a 300 meter deep ditch, two people injured

A horrific road accident occurred on Sunday morning at around 9.30 am when an Eicher Canter (22 feet long vehicle) fell into a deep ditch near Neripul on Sanaura Chhaila road. According to police sources, two people were riding in this Canter who narrowly escaped in this horrific accident. In which one person was left out during the fall of the Canter and the other was trapped under the vehicle. The local people took out the person trapped in the deep ditch under the vehicle with great difficulty and both the injured persons have been sent to Shimla IGMC.
According to the police, Eicher Caterer No. UP-30CT-1314 was going towards Kotkhai area to bring apples when this truck suddenly went out of control near Neripul and fell into a ditch about 300 meters deep. This caused chaos. It is fortunate that both the people in the truck narrowly escaped this terrible accident. However, the vehicle has suffered heavy damage.
Local people say that the apple season has started and hundreds of vehicles are plying on this route every day. This route has been in a bad condition for a long time. Deep potholes, weak protective walls and loose slopes have made it extremely dangerous. Let us tell you that there has been a continuous jam on this road for the last 3 days. On Saturday, a truck overturned near Shalech scissors, causing a jam on the road for about 4 hours. People have to wait for a long time and there is no facility of alternative routes.
Local residents and drivers have demanded the administration to repair the road immediately and take safety measures so that such accidents do not recur in future.
