Born on January 9, 1964, in Rohru, Shimla, Justice Chauhan’s early education at BCS School laid the foundation for a distinguished academic path. He earned his law degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and began practicing law in 1989. His legal career took shape under the mentorship of the renowned Lala Chhabil Das, and he soon became a trusted legal advisor to several state boards, corporations, and institutions.

Justice Chauhan’s contributions go far beyond the courtroom. He played a key role in landmark cases involving environmental protection, infrastructure development, and public health. His appointment as amicus curiae in cases related to hydel projects, ropeways, and solid waste management showcased his commitment to sustainable development and legal reform.
