Government is considering waiving 50% interest on agricultural loan : Sanjay Chauhan

The state government is seriously considering waiving off 50% interest on agricultural loans. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had announced in the budget that farmers will be given 50% rebate on interest on loans of Rs 3 lakh, which will provide relief to poor farmers who are unable to pay interest on agricultural loans due to some reason.
Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, Sanjay Singh Chauhan was presiding over an important meeting organized to celebrate the International Cooperative Year in Rajgarh. He said that the bank has decided to celebrate the financial year 2025-26 as the International Cooperative Year as well as the loan distribution year so that easy loans can be provided to the farmers, gardeners and workers of the state at easy installments and simple interest rates. He gave detailed information about various beneficial loan schemes being run for farmers, gardeners and workers in the camp.
Sanjay Chauhan said that the bank has currently decided to speed up loan disbursal for the farmers of the state under various schemes of the Government of India and the State Government. He said that as per the guidelines of the Chief Minister of the State Government Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the bank is also considering bringing new loan schemes for women and unemployed youth.
On this occasion, the bank’s director Yogendra Verma also shed light on the bank’s activities. He appealed to the participants present in the camp to also take advantage of the bank’s welfare loan schemes and fixed deposit scheme.
More than three hundred representatives of cooperative societies and banks of Rajgarh region participated in this meeting. They duly provided information about the working style, benefits received and problems faced by the cooperative societies in their respective areas.
Bank’s General Manager Raj Narayan Jamalta, Senior Manager BM Bharti, Rajgarh’s Kisan Bagwan Bank loan holders and Panchayati Raj representatives attended the camp. Congress leader Dayal Pyaari was specially present in the meeting.
