Office of SHG village organizations opened in Junga
Under the PRI-CBO Convergence Project of the Government of India and the State, the office of Nari Shakti and Nari Ekta Gram Sangathan started functioning in Junga on Saturday. It was inaugurated by Pradhan Gram Panchayat Junga Bansi Lal Kashyap. On this occasion, the mentor and resource person of the project Daisy Raju, Mentor Sunita, LRP Preeti and Suman Sood from Kerala were also present.
Pradhan Bansi Lal Kashyap said that this is the first village organization’s own office in Mashobra block which has been provided free of cost by the local Panchayat. With its opening, self-help women will have the facility to do their business and hold meetings etc. under one roof.
On this occasion, Mentor and Resource Person Daisy Raju elaborated on the facilities being provided under the project to make women self-reliant.
Krishi Sakhi Yogmaya Sharma said that about three hundred women from various self-help groups are associated with these two organizations. Various products are prepared by women from raw materials available locally, which are displayed by setting up stalls in fairs celebrated in the state. Apart from this, there is a lot of demand for the products prepared by women online as well. She said that through self-help groups, women are moving towards self-reliance, which is a matter of pride.
Poonam Kashyap, head of Nari Shakti Gram Sangathan and Anita Sharma, head of Nari Ekta Gram Sangathan and Keonthal Cluster expressed their gratitude to Pradhan Bansi Lal Kashyap for providing free office building. They said that having their own office will provide a good environment for women to work.
Women from various self-help groups including Secretary Sunita Rana participated in the program.
