Discussion on National Education Policy in Degree College Chail Koti
A one-day national seminar was organized at Government College Chail-Koti on the subject of inclusion of Indian knowledge tradition in the National Education Policy, 2020. In which, apart from the local degree college, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College Sunni and Government College Theog jointly participated.
The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the college Dr. Deepshikha Bhardwaj by lighting the lamp. She highlighted the importance of Indian knowledge tradition and said that this seminar will prove to be very beneficial for the teachers. She welcomed all the scholars and participants from other colleges who came to the seminar.
He told that scholars from across the state were invited as keynote speakers in this seminar. The seminar was organized in four sessions. In the first session, Sanskrit scholar Dr. Om Prakash Sharma of Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla was the keynote speaker. He elaborated on the great knowledge tradition of India. In the second session, Dean of Studies of Himachal Pradesh University, Dr. B.K. Shivram discussed various aspects related to the new (national) education policy and told that the university has made all its preparations to implement this policy by taking all the colleges along. He also highlighted the courses of various subjects made under this new policy.
Thereafter, as the keynote speaker in the session, Dr. Rajkumar, Professor Mahan Researcher, Department of Commerce, Himachal Pradesh University, established the importance of Indian knowledge tradition and also mentioned Western philosophy. Emphasizing the importance of Upanishads, he called it the last frontier of knowledge.
Dr. R.L. Sharma presented the new (National) Education Policy critically, under which he highlighted many challenges that need to be resolved before implementing this policy. In the last session, Dr. Bhupendra Singh, Principal of Theog College also expressed his views. Prof. Anjali Chauhan, Principal of Sunni College expressed her gratitude to all the speakers and participants present there.
