Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh: Tourists Stranded in Solang Nala

Himachal Pradesh is currently experiencing heavy snowfall, including in Kullu district. The snowfall intensified in the evening around the tourist areas of Manali, Palchan, Solang Nala, and the Atal Tunnel. As a result, vehicles of tourists visiting Solang Nala got stuck. Seeing the heavy snowfall, the police team reached Solang Nala and started the work of rescuing the stranded vehicles.

DSP Manali, KD Sharma, is personally overseeing the situation. Despite the freezing temperatures, police personnel are safely evacuating tourists. However, the snowfall and ice on the roads have increased slipperiness in some areas, causing several vehicles to skid. While tourists are delighted with the snowfall, the police personnel are facing increased difficulties due to the sub-zero temperatures.

On Friday, tourists were sent to Solang Nala, where they enjoyed the snow. However, as the snowfall increased in the evening, the police urged all tourists to leave the area promptly. Despite this, traffic jams occurred in some places due to the large number of vehicles. The police are now working to safely escort all vehicles back to Manali.

DSP Manali, KD Sharma, stated, “The snowfall has intensified, and we are ensuring that all vehicles are safely evacuated. All tourists will be brought to their hotels by late night.”
