Removal of anti-helnet from the CM Agricultural Production Protection Scheme by the state govt is unfortunate: Bragta

Every year, apples worth crores are destroyed due to hailstorm. To protect the crops of farmers and gardeners from hailstorm, the former BJP government had also included anti-hail net in the Chief Minister Agricultural Production Protection Scheme.

BJP spokesperson Chetan Bragta said that under this scheme, a farmer family was getting 80% subsidy for installing net in 5000 square meters. The former BJP government had also made a budget allocation of Rs 10 crore for the financial year 2021-22. This scheme was very beneficial for small farmers and gardeners.

Bragta said that under this scheme, the farmer-gardener was able to install a net in his garden by spending only 20% of the money. In this, farmers were getting 80% grant through the Agriculture Department and in the previous BJP government, farmers and gardeners were taking advantage of this scheme. But the back gear government of Himachal Pradesh stopped this scheme. As soon as the Congress government was formed in the state, the Agriculture Department has removed the portal for online application for anti-helnet from its website. Farmers and gardeners have applied in thousands. Farmers and gardeners who have been waiting for their turn after applying for a year are getting worried. It is unfortunate that the Sukhwinder Sukhu government of the state has closed such a scheme which was benefiting the farmers and gardeners.

Bragta said that the Congress government of the state has cheated the farmers and gardeners of the state by giving false guarantees. He said that the farmers and gardeners of the state request the Sukhu government to restart this scheme.

Bragta said that by accepting the applications pending with the Agriculture Department, the subsidy given to farmers and gardeners on anti-hail net should continue as before the BJP government.
