Vikramaditya Singh said that despite the disaster, the state government prepared a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore for relief and rehabilitation works and under humanitarian sentiments, provided relief to the disaster-affected families and amended the State Disaster Relief Manual, which helped the affected people. The families received more compensation amount. The Cabinet Minister said that the state has an electricity capacity of 25 thousand MW and so far 12 thousand MW has been exploited and the state government is focusing on this so that an increase in revenue can be possible.

Instructions were given to officials of Hydroelectricity Corporation to take special care of basic facilities in the affected area.

He directed the officials of Sutlej Hydropower Corporation to pay special attention to the maintenance of roads, drinking water schemes, and agricultural irrigation in the project-affected area so that the economy of the local people can be strengthened and the rural economy can be promoted. Vikramaditya Singh directed the project officials. Instructed to establish direct communication and coordination with the local people every 15 days so that positive decisions can be taken on the problems and the pace of development can be strengthened.

He assured the local people that he would take up the matter of compensation for their land before the Chief Minister and the Central Government so that they get proper compensation. Apart from this, he also assured us to put the matter of the dumping site before the technical experts. Earlier, Block Congress President Gopal Sharma welcomed the chief guest and apprised him about the problems of the project affected people. Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi established direct communication with the project-affected people and assured them of providing appropriate compensation from the state government.

After this, the Cabinet Minister also listened to the public problems and gave necessary directions to the concerned officials for their immediate redressal so that the people could get relief.
